Meet Our Performers...
Heather Bloomgren
(Erin)
Heather is ecstatic to be back at Cabaret
Oldtown, this time playing Kyle’s “better half”. Cabaret audiences will remember
her from Cabaret, …Gone Country!, Holiday Night Live, Totally Gnarley
80’s, and SUDS, for which she was honored with a Mary Jane Teall
Theatre Award. Heather spent some
time performing in New York and Seattle and has also been seen in Wichita at
MTW, Wichita Center for the Arts, and Mosley Street Melodrama. Love to her real life hubster, Aaron and
to Callie and Seth! Enjoy the
Ride!
Tom Frye (Ron)
Tom is neither
thrilled, excited, nor happy to be here! He has appeared in three productions
here at Cabaret Oldtown, but he is so old, he doesn’t remember them. He has been
seen in shows with all three of his cast mates, and has also appeared in several
line ups at the police station. As a matter of fact, so have they…along with our
stage manager, the band, our producer, the lighting guy, the bartenders and wait
staff, and even our resident Native American, Michael. Nice to know the work release program is
alive and well at Cabaret Oldtown.
J Tom likes his job at WSU, whatever that is
this week. Come see his show at WSU this October, it will be better than the
movie! Samuel French will soon be publishing a series of Tom’s Melodrama
scripts. See you at the book signing! Love to JAKRSMLKTW and
?
Christine Tasheff (Diane)
“I feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of
Oz!…There’s no place like Home!”
Making the transition from former owner/producer of Cabaret Oldtown to
employed actress could only feel this great because of precious Christi Moore
and getting to be among this crazy and wonderful cast. Since leaving Cabaret in
2005, Christine has performed at Wichita Center for the Arts and Mosley Street
Melodrama, but has mainly concentrated on her new business, Design
Interventions, which focuses on interior refinement and faux finishing. Thanks
again, to Christi for inviting me back to this wonderful theatre, due to her
genius and hard work, Cabaret is better and stronger than ever. Love always to
Michael, our 7 four legged children, and to my
family.
Kyle Vespestad (Paul)
Kyle is enjoying being here at Cabaret Oldtown, his home away
from home, as Heather’s “Lovah Man”!
Kyle has been performing, directing, and choreographing almost non-stop
and has received numerous Mary Jane Teall Theatre Awards since his arrival
in Wichita in 1995. His favorite
roles include Miss West Coast in Pagaent, Bud in Suburban Cowboy,
Brad in Rocky Horror and various “no-name” characters in shows like
Route 66, 8-Track-Sounds of the 70’s, Totally Gnarley 80’s, and
Cabaret,…Gone Country! In the past few years he has added writing to his
list of many talents, writing 5
shows with his friend, Christi. Don’t miss their next project, Dig That Crazy
Christmas Show!, which will hit the stage this holiday season. Thanks
to this silly cast for the fun times.
Big hugs to his best friend, Mark. Much love to Bo,
Knuckles, Stuart, and of course, to his Dad Elmer. Have a great
time!
