Cabaret
Oldtown - Where Wichita Comes To Laugh !!
Tons of great songs from all
eras

The musical comedy revue
will feature over 50 songs from 28 Women of pop and Rock n Roll from the 60's
through today. There is a little something for everyone in this show: all kinds
of artists: from Joan Jett and Melissa Etheridge to Kelly Clarkson and Katie
Perry, from Madonna to Lady Gaga...and what show about divas would be complete
without Tina Turner? All this sung by some of the most popular voices in
Wichita, accompanied, as always, by four of the best musicians on the planet!
Conceived by Christi Moore & Angela Geer
Written and Directed by Christi Moore
Choreography by Kyle Vespestad Musical
Direction by Rich Bruhn
Featuring The Cabaret Oldtown Band
February 10 - March 31st Fridays and
Saturdays at 8pm Thursdays in March, too.
Meet Our Cast...
Kaye Brownlee -
Diva
Kaye is toes pumped to be part of the Dueling Divas! Her
past Cabaret credits include Evil Dead, Spelling Bee, The Marvelous Wonderettes,
and Trailer Park. She stays very busy a Wichita Children's Theatre as their
resident costume designer. Thanks to the other 3 Divas- C, A, & M, and to
Rich and Kyle. To my dear Justin, Mom, Dad, Dan, Frances, etc: I love you and
cannot express enough gratitude for your endless support. In her spare time,
Kaye eats bags of gummy bears and fights her addiction to pinterest. She kindly
reminds you to recycle and to vote in the 2012 election.
Angela Geer - Diva

Angela is excited to be back to join this great cast of ladies for some
vocal dueling! This style show is one her favorites to do here at Cabaret, due
in large part to the incredible Cabaret Oldtown Band. Get ready for some kick
ass singing!! Angela had a ton of fun last season playing Rona in The
25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Cheryl in Evil
Dead. Other favorite Cabaret roles are Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show,
Bad Ass Betty in The Great American Trailer Park Musical, the career
woman in Menopaus-A-Palooza and of course the various Jukebox shows.
Though performing is one of Angela's passions, her absolute favorite passion is
her goddaughters Leah and Gracie, and her 5 other minions; Samantha, Tori,
Madison, Wyatt, and Kennedy - Auntie loves you! As always, Angela's heart and
inspiration comes from her mother who she knows is watching.
Christi Moore -
Diva
Christi is thrilled, excited, AND delighted to be here.
Thrilled to “work” with these 3 choice chicks. Excited, as always, to “scream” a
little with the boys in the band. And delighted to perform for her fans-thank
you both for coming! This marks Christi's 29th production as owner/producer of
Cabaret Oldtown (easy to remember- as that is also her age...again). Christi is
well-known around Wichita, ironically, for her anonymity and hopes to utilize
these abilities as a mystery shopper. She spends her spare time enjoying
competition based reality shows, candles, and secretly stalking recently single,
Johnny Depp. Much love to family, especially her favorite 17 year old, Michael.
Have a Rockin Good Time!!!
Megan
Parsley - Diva

Though she considers herself more of
a dork than a diva, Megan is excited to be in “Dueling Divas” with some of her
dearest friends, and with the best musicians on the planet. She is proud to say
that in 2011, she was the only performer to appear in all four productions here
at Cabaret, and they even let her out for fresh air and sunshine. You might
remember her as Cindy Lou in “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” Linda in “Evil Dead,”
herself in “Amazing Christmas,” or Olive in “Spelling Bee,” (for which she
received a Mary Jane Teall Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical.)
Past credits include the Broadway National Tour of “Kiss Me, Kate,” a season at
Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, and the Las Vegas production of “Parade.” In Wichita,
she has worked at Crown Uptown, Forum Theatre, Mosley Street Melodrama, Center
for the Arts, and Wichita Children’s Theater. Favorite roles include Signe in
“Church Basement Ladies,” Laurey in “Oklahoma!,” and Lucille in “Parade.” In
addition to performing, Megan is the resident choreographer for the Miss Kansas
Pageant, a church choir director, a dance team coach, and a reading tutor. Love
to Timm, Avery, and the rest of the family. This one’s for
Dad.
Meet the Cabaret
Oldtown Band...
Cabaret Oldtown is proud to be
Wichita's only year round theatre
that features live musicians performing
for every production.
Rich Bruhn -
MD/Keyboards
Rich is enjoying year #6 as musical director here
at Cabaret Oldtown. Time flies when you're having fun! He considers himself a
lucky man to play with three other talented musicians and play
for a wide variety
of great singers. Rich has been honored with several Mary Jane Teall Theatre
awards for his musical direction at Cabaret Oldtown. He is a pianist with
Wichita State and Kechi United Methodist Church, and teaches piano at Creative
Keyboard Studios. He shares his life with his lovely wife, Paula and their two
“kids”, dogs- Race Car Driver and Zero. Rich loves to review and recommend
restaurants which is why his friends lovingly
refer to him as “Zagats Bruhn”.
Ron Smith - Guitar
Ron is probably
nearing his 1000th show in this
building, but who the hell cares?! Ron is glad to be once again joining his band
mates in the sky pit, although he's pretty sure they secretly conspire against
him. He has one of the world's largest manual ice crusher collections, and his
hobbies include drinking with the boss, river
dancing, lake walking and stream standing. He also enjoys women, cooking,
reading, and cats; especially women who read about cats while cooking. Ron would
like to thank his family, friends, and his cat for their
support.
John Probst -
Bass
John Probst is excited beyond belief to be backing up
these rockin' chicks. Think about it. Girls plus Rock and Roll! Are you
kidding? That adds up to fun, before, during, and after the show!
When John isn't playing bass guitar at Cabaret, he works at Jim Starkey Music
Center, directs his church choir, and keeps it real the rest of the time.
For those of you who don't know, "keeping it real" is a full time job in it
self. If approached, John may offer a handshake, or tell you to step off,
depending on how he thinks it should go down. Do ya feel me? Thanks to his
family for letting him go have fun,
Steve Hatfield -
Drums/Percussion
Steve
Hatfield is thrilled to be revising his role as “Steve Hatfield” in this
production of Jukebox: Dueling Divas.
No stranger
to the theatre, Steve has either acted in, stage managed for, or tidied up after
such shows as “Puppets!”, “The Noodler’s Apprentice”, “Steven Sondheim’s: Smart
People Singing Lots of Big Words”, and of course, the musical review, “Vanilla
Ice: On Ice!”. A gifted athlete, he hopes to one day see origami welcomed
as an olympic sport. And although Steve claims to not know what the future
holds, he’s pretty sure it will involve wearing some sort of a cape. Call
it a gut feeling.
When not
making stuff up and insisting Christi put it in the program, Steve performs with
Music Theatre of Wichita, Bodo Ensemble, Elemental Trio and anywhere else he
hasn’t worn out his welcome. He teaches drumset at Wichita State
University and Butler County Community College, and maintains private studios at
both Midwest Drum & Percussion and Air House Music
Academy.
